Council begins its herbicide reduction.

Our local Council has started trials with a steam weeding machine beginning its 5 year phase out of herbicides. Same can’t be said in the valley. Local land-care site in the photo below shows how irresponsible the so called carers of the land have become.

Associate Professor of Ecology at Charles Sturt University, David Watson, thinks the problem farmers have with birds is often overstated. In the interview in the above ABC link he talks about what birds contribute along side of nicking some of the harvest. He also states we have to start looking at so called weeds in a different way. Instead of poisoning camphor trees start to see what they are contributing to biodiversity.
