Many years ago, a cold, fog dense afternoon, streets almost deserted as people rushed to their homes for Christmas day, I was cycling towards St Paul’s Cathedral in London, to pick up my wages from my agency.
As I cycled back towards the West -End I heard this beautiful beginning to Christmas coming out of a stone church. I got off my bike and went in to the dark interior of the ancient church to listen to the end of Once in Royal David’s City.
Beautiful! Do you remember popping into St Martin-in-the-Fields in London that day after we’d visited the Tate Gallery, and hearing the choir practising? Those beautiful old churches are perfect to sit and quietly take in the atmosphere. Happy Christmas! Love Chris and KD xx
