Storms, damaged phone lines, a month to repair.

So today the phone is cleared at last and the first internet connection for some time. Good to have a realist break from the internet.

What a time, hapless Philippine call centre staff who I really felt sorry for in the end. Following 3 appointments made for the repair man to come with all a no show. Finally I hitched to town yesterday and waited from 6 30 am until a Telstra vehicle arrived. Another hapless worker at the end of the communication pyramid of Telstra. Inefficient, costly and having call centers  that never have the right information.

Gavin turned up here at noon and an hour later the phone was reconnected.

Thank-you Gavin.

Phew, a different Christmas for me, super hot and humid I strung the hammock under the fig trees and read books. Friends visited because they could not reach me by phone. Too hot to eat much. Usually a storm in the early evening cools it down for sleep.
