Cooler days.

Showers still continuing, sun in intervals.

Perfect lantana slash weather and creating a small water hole we can drink from. After our hard labor we walk back through regenerating areas previously cleared. Yesterday we came across a red cedar nursery with at least 50 seedlings ready to transplant. Perfect find and tomorrow I will transplant the red cedar seedlings into the bank we lantana mulched on Tuesday.

Dave sharpening the brush hook during a tamarillo and pineapple break.

Red cedar nursery, amongst the native ginger.

Perfect nature nursery.

Garden is taking most of my afternoons. Digging in mustard cover crops, transplanting pak choi and brassicas and generally taking out dead tamarillos to build compost and bonfire sites.

No market so far for the turmeric,  500 kilos would be my conservative guess at what’s still in the ground. Yacon too, I would have 50 kilos of. I will post on Gumtree.
