Back to follow up in slashed lantana sites.

Beautiful sun, cool and idea working   for David and I to cover a few metres of edge. 2 mature carpet snakes sun bathing in a clear patch. We moved carefully around them. Removed the South American vines, 6 devil claws and removed bracken from around emerging red cedar trees.

Our climb to the site goes through 3 different earlier cleared of lantana sites which are now mini rain forests.

This site was slashed and mulched with lantana, no parent trees in a large patch. 20 years on and its a new forest with varied understory trees growing from the benefit of the fast growing pencil cedar whose light canopy rises many metres high. The mottled light works well as a nursery.

Lunch time…….salad.

With a bee sipping honey on a mug of ginger tea.
